Two years ago Don Cramer came up with the idea of a 1950’s “Teenage Bar” Reunion and gave out about 50 invitations for a September get-together. Guess what? Almost everyone who was invited came and a wonderful time was had by all. Since then we have received so much positive feedback that we are putting together an Annual 50’s Reunion starting this September, but on a much broader spectrum. We are expanding our invitation list to include all “Sea Isle Year-Around & Summer Kids” from the 50’s and 60’s era including the lifeguards, the Yacht Club and everyone who attended the dances on the Boardwalk, the K of C Hall, the Teenage Bar and the under 21 club. If you were a part of that era and remember the wonderful times we all had in Sea Isle City, you will surely want to attend and see your old friends again.
The Reunion will be held at Kixx Lounge, 63rd St, on Saturday evening September 18th. Our host Len Desiderio has graciously offered us his lounge for the evening plus a large tent for additional outside seating. We are continuing to gather a lot of our “old friends” names but not too many with email or home addresses. We have included these names on our “Can’t Locate” list for your review. We need your help in finding these old friends. Equally important is for you to add to the 'Can't Locate' list as many additional names of all the old friends you can remember. If you want to see them at the event, we will have to invite them. We'll also post these names for others to see and respond if they know their whereabouts. We will attempt to do two or three more mailings before the reunion in an effort to reach these people, at least for this year. The next list included is our “Mailing List” of people on whom we have mailing information and invited. If you have old friends who are not on this list and you would like to invite them, send us their names and contact info. We will send (email preferred) them an invitation and add them to the mailing list. Please provide your email address as well as your friend’s email addresses. Email addresses are a priority.
Included on the registration form page is a question on what music you remember from “old Sea Isle” and would like to hear. List your favorite tunes and we will play them. We will be playing all of the songs from that era and your favorites will be included on our play list. We will also be posting a blog with up to the minute info on the event. Our best estimate for a head count right now is between 300 and 400 guests.
